One Degree NYC is Here!
Rey Faustino, Interim CEO
New York City, we’ve got you covered. I’m proud to announce that One Degree has expanded to NYC! Today, One Degree NYC includes over 5,500 resources in English and Spanish to help connect New Yorkers to health, education, employment, food, housing, legal services, and more. Families and the professionals who support them can use One Degree to search for and access community resources across all five boroughs - from Brooklyn to the Bronx, and in Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island!
New Yorkers have already been using One Degree to get free food in Richmond Hill and get a cash bail refund in Manhattan. In fact, last month there were 9,699 visits to One Degree NYC, which is the only non-profit, community-facing platform of its kind in the region, and in fact, in the entire country.
We did this work, as we do all of our work, through deep and diverse community partnerships. In 2020, One Degree joined the Fair Futures coalition and partnered with over 100 organizations and foundations to ensure all youth have access to high-quality education and employment resources. In 2022, our NYC partnerships expanded to include Benefits Data Trust, Robin Hood, and a network of 50 local community-based organizations and social service providers who help New Yorkers gain dignified access to public benefits and services.
And we know there is more work to do, more resources to include, and more families to support.
Connect with me if you’re interested in supporting our growing work in NYC. We look forward to giving families across the five boroughs access to thousands of resources they need and to resources they didn’t even know existed.
