| | Conference Round-Up: ISM 2019 |
| In late September, members of our team traveled to Milwaukee for APHSA’s annual IT Solutions Management (ISM) for Human Services Conference to meet state and local government changemakers, and find out what they’re grappling with in integrated eligibility. We learned that even though many states have large-scale eligibility system modernizations in progress, there are still many gaps in connecting more people to more benefits.
Here are some other things we learned: | | • Data-sharing across agencies continues to be a high priority for many states and counties. Sonoma and San Diego counties shared examples of their data hub for sharing client data across programs. • Everyone’s talking about chatbots and AI, things we discussed in depth here. States are using them to streamline processes and help families in real time. • Add “low code/no code” to your list of buzzwords. Several vendors are marketing the cost and efficiency benefits of these platforms with little or no custom code.
